HIMSS member advancement
Advanced members enjoy a variety of benefits, including industry recognition, HIMSS Global Health Conference perks and HIMSS Board of Directors and Nominating Committee eligibility. Eligibility for advanced membership is based on professional capability, experience, leadership and service. Life and Life Fellow members are recognized for their service to HIMSS for 30 (or more) consecutive years.

Senior and fellow member advancement application requirements
- Current job description
- Organizational chart, with position circled
- Proof of highest degree, if applicable
- Proof of current certification credential, if applicable
- Letter of recommendation from current HIMSS Fellow (if applying for Fellow)
- Letter of recommendation from CxO (optional)

Life and Life Fellow member advancement application
Life members are considered the most elite members of HIMSS. To apply for Life or Life Fellow status, write a letter referencing your 30 years of service and desire to advance and email it to advancement@himss.org.
