Technology Informatics for Global Education and Readiness (TIGER)
Transforming health for all through innovative tools.
Integrating informatics into education
The Technology Informatics for Global Education and Readiness (TIGER) initiative from HIMSS provides the global health workforce with innovative informatics/eHealth tools and resources to transform health. The global TIGER network collaborates to integrate informatics/eHealth into healthcare education, certification, practice and research through an inclusive, interdisciplinary and intergenerational approach.

TIGER recommendation framework
While educational informatics recommendations shape curriculum and courses, they’re unable to inform educators on how to customize content for local needs and requirements — that’s why the TIGER International Competency Synthesis Project (ICSP) and the EU*US eHealth Work Project came together create a recommendation framework of health informatics competencies (v2.0) to measure, inform, educate and advance development of a skilled workforce throughout the EU and U.S. Although the EU*US eHealth Work Project has ended, we’re compiling global case studies to continue to bring our findings to life.
