Originally I started making these yogurt pancakes for my almost 1 year old as a way to get extra protein and calcium into his breakfast after he got sick of having eggs.
The truth is: I spent weeks perfecting this fluffy yogurt pancake recipe to get them to be perfectly fluffy and tender on the inside. I wanted them to be just as easy and delicious as my ever popular banana oatmeal pancakes and finally after many not so perfect attempts, I finally landed on a recipe I feel proud of: yogurt pancakes that are tender and fluffy on the inside.
The best part though? These oatmeal yogurt pancakes were happily welcomed by both my son and husband. I often add blueberries and then slather them with peanut butter for a little extra boost of deliciousness, and find them both gobbling them up. And good news: they’re perfect for freezing so you can enjoy them whenever you’d like!
Everything you’ll need to make yogurt pancakes
These easy greek yogurt pancakes come together right in your blend with just a few simple ingredients (busy morning win!) There’s no flour, just hearty oats. Here’s what you’ll need to make them:
- Whole milk greek yogurt: I like to use a plain or vanilla whole milk greek yogurt to add a delicious boost of protein to these pancakes and a dose of healthy fats. You can use whatever flavor of yogurt you’d like, but whole milk greek yogurt is best.
- Milk: you’ll also need a bit of milk to give the batter the right consistency. I typically use unsweetened almond milk, but you can use any milk you’d like.
- Egg: you’ll need one egg in these pancakes.
- Flavor: we’re sweetening these yogurt pancakes with just a bit of coconut sugar, and adding both vanilla and almond extract for an amazing, cookie-like flavor.
- Oats: the base of these pancakes is made with gluten free rolled oats to keep them perfectly thick and fluffy.
- Baking staples: remember to add a little baking powder and salt.
- Optional mix-ins: feel free to choose your favs! I love adding blueberries or chocolate chips.
How to make pancakes with yogurt (right in the blender!)
- Blend the batter. No bowl or whisk required! Add all of the wet and dry ingredients (except the mix-ins) to your blender and blend on high until the batter is smooth.
- Let it sit. That’s right, you’ll want to then let the batter sit in the blender! This is important as it will allow the batter to thicken for about 10 minutes.
- Cook, top & enjoy! Lastly, use the batter to make pancakes as you normally would! Get all of my tips and tricks for making the best pancakes here.
What makes these yogurt pancakes extra special
- They’re packed with protein. These yogurt pancakes have almost 15g of protein per serving, making them the perfect high protein pancakes without protein powder! A great post-workout breakfast that includes a complex carb, protein and healthy fat.
- They don’t need any oil. Because of the natural fats from whole milk yogurt, you won’t need any additional oils. Beware, if you don’t use a higher fat yogurt, your pancakes may come out gummy.
- The batter is made in the blender. This yogurt pancake recipe comes together in under 30 minutes for a quick, easy breakfast any day of the week. You’ll make the batter right in the blender for ease!
- These pancakes are great for both adults and kids. The quality ingredients make these a wonderful nutritious option, and fun to add toppings to. We love blueberries or chocolate chips!
The best yogurt for yogurt pancakes
To keep your pancakes nice, light and fluffy, I recommend using a whole milk greek yogurt. You can use flavored yogurt if you’d like, but it’s especially important to use a yogurt that has some fat content in it so that your pancakes don’t become gummy or dense. Trust me on this one!
Don’t forget toppings & mix-ins
What are pancakes without the yummy toppings and mix-ins? I love to fold fresh blueberries or chocolate chips right into the batter, and they’re extra delicious topped with:
- Fresh berries
- A dollop of yogurt
- Nut butter
- Chocolate chips
- Chopped nuts
- A drizzle of maple syrup
Make them ahead + keep the pancakes warm
Feel free to make these yogurt pancakes ahead of time and keep them warm in the oven! Simply place your oven at 200 degrees F, add your pancakes to a baking sheet or oven-safe plate, and place them in the oven until you’re ready to serve.
Pancake freezing tips
If you want to make these fluffy oatmeal yogurt pancakes ahead of time and serve them at a later date, you can place the pancakes on a baking sheet so they aren’t touching and place in the freezer for 30 minutes (this is called a flash freeze), then place them in freezer safe containers and freeze for up to 3 months. Once ready to reheat, simply add pancakes to a plate and microwave for 30-60 seconds or until warm.

125 Ridiculously Good For You, Sometimes Indulgent, and Absolutely Never Boring Recipes for Every Meal of the Day
Ingredients
- ½ cup whole milk greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or dairy free milk of choice)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon almond extract
- 1 ¼ cup old fashioned rolled oats, gluten free if desired
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional mix-ins
- Blueberries or chocolate chips
- Butter or olive oil, for cooking
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients (except optional mix-ins) to a blender and blend on high until completely smooth, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Let the batter sit in your blender for 10 minutes; this is important to allow the batter to thicken up properly, so please do not skip!
- After 10 minutes, lightly coat a griddle with butter or olive oil and place over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add approximately 1/4 cup of the batter to the griddle for each pancake. Immediately add 5-6 blueberries or chocolate chips per pancake and cook for 2-4 minutes until pancakes slightly puff up and you see a few bubbles along the edges.
- Flip cakes and cook until golden brown on underside. If you find that pancakes are browning too quickly then you need to lower the heat. I normally start on medium heat, then decrease to medium low later so that my pancakes don't burn. If at any point your griddle starts smoking or if your pancakes are quickly burning, it means your pan is too hot.
- Wipe skillet clean and repeat with more oil and remaining batter. Makes 6 pancakes total. Serves 2, 3 pancakes each.

Why is the milk called to be “dairy free” (especially since aleeady using dairy yogurt)? Can I use regular dairy milk? Thanks!
You can use any milk you’d like!
Another awesome pancake recipe- so fluffy & I LOVE the almond extract in this one! Thank you!!!
The best! So glad you enjoyed!
Can you tell me if you tried any egg substitute in all your trials? My mom has egg white sensitivity and an egg divided in 6 would not pass. Thanks 😀
Sorry, I haven’t tested these to be egg free. Try our vegan pancakes instead: https://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/fluffy-vegan-pancakes/
Hi!! This looks so good and I am wondering if I can sub the coconut sugar with regular or brown sugar? Any recommendations to sub? Thanks!
I just used regular sugar and they were delicious!
Hi! Yes that should work just fine 1:1.
These are the best pancakes I’ve ever made. They taste great, are super easy to make, and a ton healthier than any regular box mix. Will definitely be making again!! Thank you Monique 😊
So happy to hear that! Such a great breakfast 🙂
These are our new go-to weekend pancake. Your banana oatmeal pancakes used to be it but now we can’t stop making these! Love the almond extract. Adds such flavor.
I’m so glad! Perfect breakfast 🙂
This is such an easy recipe to follow, I love that it can all go right into the blender. All 3 of my kiddos LOVED the pancakes and they were full and didn’t ask for a morning snack! Will definitely be making these again, thank you so much!
So easy and delicious! Glad these are a hit with the kids 🙂
What can do use in stead of an egg? We have an egg allergy.
I think that she has other vegan pancake recipes you can follow instead!!
We’ve done a flax egg and they turned out great!
I just made these for the first time and they are delicious! I topped them with a little butter and a dusting of powdered sugar and cinnamon (truly just a tiny, tiny dusting – they’re very tasty as is). I’ll definitely make them again (maybe with chocolate!). The shop was out of whole milk Greek yogurt (small town life) so I had to use fat free and they were a tiny bit gummy. No surprise that Monique knows what she’s talking about! Next time I’ll use whole milk yogurt if I can find it, but I still enjoyed them immensely.
So glad you loved them regardless! Perfect breakfast 🙂
I want to make these so bad but noticed the note about the yogurt and it having to have fat in it. Were lactose intolerant here so I use lactose free Greek yogurt, which unfortunately has no fat 🙁 is there another option I can use?
Try adding in a 1 tablespoon of olive oil or melted butter to the batter 🙂
I’m always looking for high protein meals to feed my insatiable two sons and one daughter. This is delicious! Our favorite pancakes have always been your banana oatmeal ones (with natural PB and chocolate chips mwahaha!) but these are equally delicious. Might have to try some cinnamon next time. I did add 1/2 scoop per batch of collagen powder (see: ravenous kids, and I always make 2-4 batches of things at a time) and it turned out great. Mmmm!
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed!
Ummm….yum! I loved this switched up pancake recipe!
Next time I might give the oats a quick blend and then add the wet ingredients…but delicious flavour and love that they are more nutritious than standard pancakes.
Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
These pancakes were delicious and easy and cooked up so nicely. What a nutritious way to start the day. I will be making them again soon!
Best way to wake up! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
I never write reviews, but just had to for this recipe! Monique, you have truly outdone yourself with this one—these pancakes are absolutely delicious! Truly a new staple in my kitchen. I added thinly sliced banana and chocolate chips to mine and topped with pb and maple syrup—YUM!! Thank you, thank you, for a higher protein breakfast option that tastes amazing (such a unicorn these days!)!!
So happy to hear that! Thanks so much for your review 🙂
Just made these for brunch and everyone loved them! I doubled the recipe and added chocolate chips to half the batch. Thanks, Monique!
Love that! Glad they were a hit!
I made these this morning and my husband specifically asked what I did differently to make them so good!
Love it! Best breakfast.
So yummy. Made this morning and were warming filling and lovely. Topped with bluebs.
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
The flavor of these is amazing, I think it has to do with the almond extract. My batter was a little too thin, even after sitting 15 minutes. I added a few tablespoons of flour to get to the consistency of my liking, but I am sure more oats could have been blended in with the same result.
The almond extract makes a big difference! And hmmm, it should be nice and fluffy but let me know if you try with more oats.
These were delicious! One question: if I wanted to bump up the protein by adding 2 scoops protein powder (figuring 1 scoop per person/serving), would that change the volume of wet ingredients?
Great question, I’d say it really depends on the protein powder. I’m also thinking that it may severely alter the flavor and texture. Maybe start with 1 scoop and see what it tastes like and how the texture comes out then you can adjust as needed! 🙂
This is our new favorite pancake recipe! Thank you so much for perfecting it. The pancakes turned out fluffy and delicious tasting- my husband and I love the almond and vanilla flavors together and I am a big Greek yogurt fan so this is great! I tried the first time using fat free plain Greek yogurt and loved them but this recipe is truly yummy with full fat Greek yogurt. Added a few blueberries and also followed the ambitious kitchen pancake tips. So successful! Thank you again. 💛
Absolutely! So happy to hear that!
I LOVE this recipe! I look forward to these pancakes every Saturday!! Thank you!
So happy to hear that! Perfect weekend brunch 🙂
I’ve had to be super strict with my carb intake since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes. This is the first sweet recipe I’ve made and they’re delicious and still kept my blood sugar in range. Thanks so much, Monique!
I’m so glad you found these! Such a great breakfast 🙂
I am also diabetic – formerly gestational. We chose to skip the coconut sugar altogether. It has no nutritional value beyond sweetening and the pancakes were still yummy. We added a tbsp of maple syrup on top – a carbohydrate equivalent to coconut sugar that also contains important minerals (unlike coconut sugar!).
Happy they still tasted great without it! Thanks so much for leaving a review, Kacey 🙂
These pancakes are amazing! So fluffy, rich and creamy taste and a nice crisp on the outside. I will definitely be making these again! Thank you!
Absolutely! Glad you loved them 🙂
These were absolutely fabulous. I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great – my husband and I devoured these, and then I made another double batch to keep in the fridge and pop in the toaster. Thanks, Monique!! Your recipes are amazing.
Amazing! Great idea to freeze them 🙂 So glad you’re finding recipes here that you love!
Really tasty and kid friendly. I used half the amount of almond extract and it was enough for our taste. Also used soy milk because it was what we had. Definitely will make them again but I’ll double to recipe.
Perfect! Glad they were a hit with the kiddos!
These were a hit with my whole family thank you!! Love how thick these pancakes are and they tasted so warm and delicious and not too sweet. My 15 month old thought they were the greatest. The only sub I made was agave for coconut sugar since I didn’t have. Will for sure make again.
Absolutely! So happy to hear that!
WOW! These turned out amazing ! Never had a breakfast that is healthy and this tasty! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!
Meal prepped this for breakfasts for my 11 month old (and me, who am I kidding) – swapped out almond milk for whole milk and didn’t have almond extract, and these were still delicious! Just need to double the batch next time because I know we’ll fly through these 🙂
I follow your recipes to the T and every time they are amazing! Specially this one, I made it this morning AGAIN and my kids love love love them. They are nice and fluffy and beyond delicious!
I flash freeze these and then heat them up during the week for breakfast! They are phenomenal!! Only change I make to the recipe is I add 8-10 blueberries so I get one in every bite.
These were so fluffy and delicious!! Easy too. I used regular whole milk and didn’t have almond extract but oh myy were they good! Can’t wait to try again with the almond extract. I also mixed in mini chocolate chips. I topped mine with peanut butter. Don’t skip letting the batter sit so it can thicken up! Approved by my 7 year old, We look forward to making these at least once a week now. Thanks Monique!
This recipe is SO DANG GOOD! I can’t explain how it why, but they have a traditional pancake taste with none of the “bad ingredients”. My 1 year old loves them and my pregnant body CRAVES them! Do yourself a favor; make a double batch, and Freese the rest for toaster pancakes every morning!
Stop looking! This is the best healthy pancakes recipe ever! I prepare these every Saturday morning. 🙂 And yes, let the batter sit for 10 minutes before making the pancakes. Thank you for the recipe, Monique. 🙂
My 8 month old twins LOVE these pancakes! And I’m happy knowing they are getting some added nutrition with their delicious breakfast.
Love love love this recipe! So easy and delicious – makes the fluffiest pancakes and great way to enjoy a controlled but undeniable sweet tooth!
made these for my one year old and husband and i – didnt use the coconut sugar and used 1/4 cup 2% plain greek and 1/4 cup 2% lemon flavoured greek yogurts. added some lemon zest as well. they were so fluffy and delicious (and protein packed). i will definitely make these again.
Perfect breakfast!
So good! Made these for my son to have as a quick breakfast in the morning. Added some plus berries and he LOVES them. Literally after every bite he says ‘Mmmmm!’ Thank you for the simple, amazing recipe.
So happy to hear that!!
SO YUMMY AND EASY! I recently bought a Vitamix and have been eager to try blender recipes. The oats ground up so smoothly to make a nice batter. I like that this recipe doesn’t require a ripe banana, which I often don’t have on hand. They tasted just as good as “regular” pancakes. Will definitely be using this as my go-to pancake recipe.
Absolutely! Perfect breakfast!
This were fantastic! So much so, I made them 4 mornings in a row! Super simple to make because all the ingredients gets thrown into a blender. I would say the the key really is to let them sit for a bit before cooking. The batter thickens up and they become super fluffy.
So yummy! My go to pancake recipe. The whole family loves these pancakes!!
So easy and the whole family loved it! I will have to make a double batch next time so I can freeze it for an easy week day breakfast
So quick and easy
Great!
I LOVE the banana pancake recipe, and make them often for my 16 month old son. I was excited to try these! I used less almond extract than the recipe called for because I know it’s a strong flavor. It was still too much. My son liked them. But it was too overwhelming of a flavor for these. I will try them again and omit the almond extract and see if I like it better!
Yes let me know how you like them without it!
These pancakes are AMAZING. Super fluffy, crazy easy to make, and my 1 year old loves them! I make with Wallaby no sugar added whole milk Greek yogurt (vanilla chai flavor is our fave!) so they’re super healthy. Makes a big batch and reheats really well. Used them for breakfast and morning snack for a week!
Just made these and absolutely loved them! Would def not leave out the sugar (I did cos I didn’t have any!) and think they could’ve done with a sweet taste added to them.
Tried this recipe and my pancake batter was soooooo thick it was more like muffin or bread dough. Even added more milk and water to try and get a slightly runny consistency but they just were not coming out right. I used 5% milkfat whole milk Greek yogurt – was that too much fat for this recipe? Would love to try and make them again!
Hmmm, you may need to add a splash more milk — perhaps 2 tablespoons. I don’t think the yogurt would have been the issue though! You can also use oat flour in this recipe instead — 1 cup of oat flour is perfect!
These pancakes are so dang delicious. I add a little extra vanilla/almond extract and blueberries.
I’ve never really been a pancake person, but when my daughter started eating solids I wanted to find healthy pancakes that I felt good about feeding her. So grateful for AK and all of her healthy pancake recipes. This one is my favorite so far! Such good flavor and texture. Her healthy pumpkin pancakes are also amazing. All of her pancake recipes have done great in the waffle maker too.
Delicious recipe!!! I was accidentally a little heavy handed on the almond extract, but that just gave the pancakes a little extra flair of flavor, which was pleasantly nice. I will definitely make these again! I think I found my new go-to pancake recipe.
Perfect! Glad you loved them!
This was an amazing recipe!! The pancakes were so fluffy! I didn’t have Greek yogurt so I used plain 100% fat regular yogurt and it was just as delicious! Also love the fact that it’s a quick all in one blender recipe. Thanks Monique!
Easy & delicious! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
These pancakes are super easy and fast to make even with a hungry little one around! I’ve added 1/2 banana to the mixture and turns out well!
Absolutely! Glad you like them 🙂
We love these and make them almost every week. I also make them as “muffins” in the oven. 350° for 15 min.
Love it! Glad they’re a hit 🙂
Perfect, fluffy, protein packed and delicious pancakes! Love the ease of throwing it all in the blender! AK can do no wrong! These are a breakfast go to for us!
Absolutely! Easy and delicious 🙂 glad you loved them!
Monique does it again with another bomb recipe. I made these pancakes last weekend and then again this weekend because they are just THAT good. This mix is so easy to make – just throw it all in the blender. And I love that it’s healthy ingredients so I don’t feel like I’m indulging too much. It’s perfect portion for two people. Don’t skip the step where you let the batter sit! The excitement to eat them is real, but patience is key I found out. I waited just barely 10 minutes the first time and they were a tad thin (still yummy!) and this second time I waited probably more like 10-15 and they were much fluffier. Added blueberries both times which works lovely with the slight almond flavor from the almond extract. This pancake recipe is a keeper.
Patience is key! So glad you loved these ones 🙂 Perfect with some blueberries!
Another winner!!! I didn’t put any sugar only because I only ever eat pancakes with too much maple syrup 🤣. They tasted great and the texture was perfect.
Perfect! Such a great breakfast 🙂
These are awesome! I only had 0% Greek yogurt on hand but they still turned out amazing!
Perfect! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Made these in the shape of hearts for Valentine’s Day! Love the flavor with the oats and almond extract. Mine were not very fluffy, but I may have needed to wait even longer between blending and baking. My husbands mind was blown that they had no flour in them!!!
So cute! And yes, let the batter sit just a bit longer next time 🙂
Love these pancakes! The first time I made them I used 1%milk and 1Tbsp of white sugar because that was all I had and they were good. Today, I made them again and used unsweetened almond milk and coconut sugar (like the recipe suggests) and it was even better! I don’t like to substitute unless I am out of something and have no choice. This recipe is perfect! My new favorite pancakes. I put blueberries in them and topped with some raspberries and they were delicious!
Amazing! Glad you enjoyed!
We are snowed in and made these this morning and they were a hit! Even my 8 month old devoured a whole pancake!
Amazing! Such a great breakfast 🙂 Stay safe!
I have truly made this recipe 7-10 times. I love it so much, and my 10 month old loves it too!
Amazing! So happy to hear that 🙂
The best healthy pancakes I’ve ever had!! New go-to for sure!
So happy to hear that!
I just made these for my kids and they smell like birthday cake! Next time I’ll add sprinkles. I don’t eat eggs so I’m not sure about the flavor but smell and consistency are 10/10!
Yum! Hope they enjoyed!
Made these for my family last night and they were a hit and loved by all! Will definitely make them again and add blueberries as Monique suggests!
So happy to hear that!
I’m not sure what happened. I followed the recipe exactly (except I doubled it) and it turned into concrete in the blender. I could turn the blender upside down and the batter wouldn’t budge. Would doubling have caused this?
It could be, or just the fact that you need a little more liquid. Also can depend on which brand of yogurt you use, as the consistencies can really differ. Feel free to add more milk next time if necessary! Don’t be afraid to play around.
As soon as I saw this posted on IG I made a batch for the work week. They are awesome. I reheat them in the morning for an easy breakfast. I made some small changes because I am challenged with a frying pan. I bake mine at 350 for 5 mins a side on parchment paper. I also use brown sugar, less than a table spoon in my batter. I make a double batch and I get about 20 pancakes using an ice cream scooper to measure it out. I love the ingredients in this recipe. It’s everything I already have in my kitchen. A few times I used steel cut oats because I didn’t have the rolled oats on hand and it also came out delicious. Thank you!!!
Perfect! I’m glad that works out well! Such a great breakfast.
These pancakes are SO good and filling! This is my new go-to healthy pancake recipe😋 they are also just as good the next day if you pop them in the microwave or toaster! Thank you Monique!
So happy to hear that! And YES love these in the toaster.
These pancakes were so amazing and easy!! My little one loved them(I left out the sugar) and my husband tried one so I made some “grown up” ones with sugar and chocolate chips. I made plenty for leftovers so we can have for breakfast or snack in the coming week. Super easy, I liked that they had to rest because it gave me a chance to run around with my little one while the pan heated up for cooking. Cant wait to make these again. Love all these recipes!
Perfect! Such a great breakfast for busy mornings 🙂
My new favourite pancake recipe! I’ve made your banana oatmeal pancakes and coconut flour pancakes which are also delicious. But finally a healthy pancake recipe that doesn’t require a banana! Can’t wait to make it again.
Love it! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Couldn’t be easier to make and are delicious! Great snack for a breastfeeding mama.
Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Omg these are amazing. For the topping I made a cherry compote with frozen sweet cherries, almond extract and vanilla extract, along with maple syrup. My fiancé said they reminded him of shortcake and I agree, that’s exactly how I’d describe the flavor. Next time I’m going to make them with a strawberry compote and coconut whip! Love how easy they are for a weekday breakfast too.
That sounds amazing!! Glad you both enjoyed 🙂
These are the best!! My toddler loves them and I do to, bc they offer a really healthy filling bfast. Even better that they have protein, its like a full meal (protein, carb, fruit if added) in one. I make mine ahead of time and they heat amazing in the toaster
Absolutely! Perfect way to wake up.
My 8 month old and I love these. I usually do not have the coconut sugar or almond extract on hand, and these are still so great. Can’t wait to try them with all the ingredients. They heat up well the next day too! Thanks for the recipe, AK!
Perfect breakfast! Glad you both love them!
Loved the recipe. Quick and easy, I didn’t add the sugar but included blueberries to compensate and it became a great snack for my baby boy as well.
Perfect! Glad you loved them 🙂
Delicious and really fluffy! Both my toddler and I enjoyed thoroughly and the protein boost was just what we needed.
So happy to hear that!
These are seriously some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I’ve had them for breakfast for like 5 days straight! They’re so satiating.
Love that! Perfect breakfast 🙂
These are incredible exactly as written and my son (7mo) is OBSESSED! Thank you!
Love that! Perfect breakfast 🙂
So easy and delicious! Come together quick enough for weekdays. Serves enough for me, my husband and toddler. Recommend doubling if you are feeding more than that. So good!
Absolutely. Glad they’re a hit with the whole family!
Absolutely loved these!!! I think I can easily say its my new favourite pancake recipe. Thanks!!
So happy to hear that!!
These pancakes are so delicious and healthy! I make them once a week- my husband and baby love them too! The almond extract adds such a unique flavor. The only thing is mine don’t get fluffy. I’ve double checked he expiration date on my baking powder and tried out a few different types of oats to see if it made a difference. I still LOVE them though!
So glad you liked them! Hmmm strange. What is the consistency of yours? They should puff up very nice. Also, try a new baking powder. Even if it hasn’t expired, it could be no longer working as well!
I left out the sugar and almond extract but they were still very tasty. So fluffy!
Perfect! Such a great breakfast.
Do you recommend making your pancake recipes into waffles? I recently acquired a Waffle Maker.
I haven’t tested them in a waffle maker so I’m not 100% sure! Check out my waffle recipes here 🙂
These are incredible! I didn’t have almond extract, but will def be buying it for the next time I make these. Delicious!
Glad you loved them!
These were amazing! I only had nonfat yogurt on hand so I know they would be even better if I had the full fat. Very easy and quick to make too!
I’m glad they were still delicious! Such a great breakfast.
Thoroughly enjoyed! I love the flavour the almond extract adds. Will be making these again for sure.
Absolutely! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Monique, these were absolutely outrageous. Very moist, which I personally prefer to a cakier pancake. Added banana and chocolate chips to the batter. Will make these over and over again.
so glad you loved them!!
I love these pancakes and make them all the time! I do add an extra egg for more protein and they come out great.
Perfect! So happy to hear that!
Love these pancakes! Especially the almond flavor in them and the fact that they are healthy and taste delicious!!
So happy to hear that!
These are delicious! I have a wheat allergy, and it’s so nice to have options that actually taste like real pancakes! Serving my grandbabies healthy alternatives is a bonus.
Thanks for another amazing recipe!!
Question: Do you have any tips for doubling this recipe? I don’t think I’d double the salt, but should I double the baking powder?
So happy to hear that! And yes, feel free to just double all of the ingredients except for the salt.
Delicious, fluffy, my whole family enjoyed! Thanks!!
So happy to hear that!
This is one of my two favorite go-to pancake recipes. (The other one is the Healthy Banana Oatmeal Pancake.) I’ve made this countless times so far. So easy, healthy, AND delicious!
I’m so glad! Two of my favorites 🙂
I made this for my one year daughter and she loved them. I didn’t personally do baby lead weaning so I was little late to introducing foods like pancakes, but this was a winner. The recipe made 6 good sized pancakes so I will also be eating with my breakfast of egg muffin and fruit. Extra protein is always a plus. I have made your meatball recipes, and they have all been delciious.
Perfect! So happy to hear that!
I’ve made this recipe 3x in the past week! My 1 and 4 year old love it! I’ve even left the coconut sugar out and they still devoured it. My husband and I enjoyed as well. Extra delicious with fresh blueberry added in. Thank you Monique!
So happy to hear that! Perfect breakfast 🙂
These are the best. So great for babies and toddlers and adults! Great ingredients you can feel good about. Consistency is light and fluffy. Have made them several time! Added flax seed today!
Absolutely! Perfect breakfast 🙂
These pancakes are my absolute favourite, I make them every weekend! Definitely recommend leaving the batter for the 10 minutes as suggested, as they come out much thicker and fluffier! They are still super moist and delicious. I add some cinnamon to my batter for a little extra flavour.
So happy to hear that! And yes letting them sit a bit really helps 🙂 Great idea to add cinnamon!
I have been making these every other morning for months and realized I needed to let you and the world know they are the most incredible pancakes ever! My husband loves them and now it is the only pancake recipe I will ever use! Sometimes I mix it up and throw a scoop of vanilla protein powder in there but it changes the consistency a bit. Original recipe is best! These pancakes are fantastic for snacking on as well! I grab one every time I pads the fridge haha! Thank you Monique! I love your blog and appreciate the hard work and love you put into every recipe!
Emily, I’m SO happy to hear you guys are such huge fans of these! Thank you for the love!
Can I mix by hand or must it be in a blender?
Hi, Zainab. I’d definitely recommend a blender for this recipe, since the oats need to be broken down. If you don’t have one, I’d recommend looking at some of my other pancake recipes 🙂
Made as written except I used regular milk instead of almond milk. The almond extract was too much for me, so I’ll omit that next time, but the texture and consistency was spot on. Will make again.
Totally fine to omit the almond extract (I just personally love it haha!) Glad that you enjoyed them aside from that 🙂
What could have made the batter not thicken, the pancakes not get fluffy? I did do the recipe verbatim and let it sit for 10 minutes, regardless they were tasty!
it could have depended on what type of yogurt you used. Was it greek yogurt? It should have been thick! Otherwise if it doesn’t thicken up just add a little more oats!
These pancakes were delicious! Made them this morning for me and the kids. I didn’t have coconut sugar so I subbed with maple syrup. The little bit of almond extract really comes out in the taste and I loved that!
Yay! I’m so happy that you loved them, Marissa!
These turned out great! I added a banana to the blender too and these still turned out well with the additional ingredient. The almond extract makes them taste special.
So happy to hear the banana addition worked well and that you enjoyed them, Colleen! 🙂
Love this recipe! My 1 year old’s favorite breakfast (and mine)!
So happy you guys love these!!
These pancakes are fantastic!! As someone who eats primarily gluten free it’s awesome these are not made with flour. They are super easy to make and the results are fluffy, soft, super delicious pancakes. I make them every single week, changing the add ins if we want and topping them with other fruit as well. I will never make pancakes any other way, that’s how good these are.
Yay! I’m so happy that you love these, Isabel!!
Really yummy and very fluffy!!
So happy you enjoyed them, Tessa 🙂
Just made these for breakfast and loved them! So fluffy, delicious pancakes!
These are my all time favorite pancakes!!
So good and so easy! Perfect for toddlers and adults alike. We drizzle with almond butter and dig in. Easy and quick enough for weekday breakfast option.
My 13 year old made these this week and really enjoyed them. She topped them with honey and fresh blueberries.
These are so delicious and filling. Fluffy yet dense. So good with blueberries and maple syrup.
Pancake are great!! I did find blending the oats before adding the other ingredients helped the pancakes have less texture which is what my kids liked. I also froze the extras and they reheated beautifully!
Love love love this recipe! We make these every Saturday morning! Even my parents who never eat breakfast LOVED them! I also love the blender aspect- so easy! Thanks for all your wonderful recipes- you are a gem and a master creator!
Your banana oat pancakes are a staple in my house but I decided to switch it up and make these! Wow! My husband said these are his absolute favourite pancake! New staple from here on out!
Loved these high protein, low sugar pancakes! They were fluffy and super easy to make by blending all ingredients in vitamix. Great recipe and a keeper!
These pancakes are so delicious! I love adding blueberries to them because they taste just like a blueberry muffin and I make them all the time. Great recipe!
These were quick and easy to make! love putting everything into the blender and then after ten minutes of letting it sit, it’s ready to go! the only thing for me is next time I would do without the almond extract. That may be a personal preference!
I love this recipe exactly as it is, and I have made these pancakes over and over again! Thank you!
Nice! I’m so glad you’re loving them!
I’ve made these many times now and they turn out perfectly every time! Thank you for another awesome recipe!
Yay! I’m so glad you’re loving these 🙂
I have made these several times and they are delish, simple, and nutritious! I like to slater mine with PB and maple syrup for a filling weekend brunch or even dinner with the gal pals on bach night. Highly recommend, I do mine in a nutribullet or a food processor and it works equally well in both.
So glad to hear that!! Yum to the PB slathering.
We tried this recipe on request from my 5 year old son. We did not have the extracts so we used cacao instead turned out great…
Awesome! I’m so glad you guys all enjoyed it!
I made these this morning and they were so YUM! Ended up using dairy milk and added mini chocolate chips – not too sweet but perfect with some syrup! Already craving them again!
Nice!! So glad you loved them, Emily 🙂
This was a huge hit at our house!! Used Siggis vanilla and my toddlers destroyed them (so did I). Thank you!!!
Oh yay!! Love siggi’s so much. Glad that you guys enjoyed these!
Love these! Easy to make, delicious and the protein satiates me and the kids all morning.
So easy and delicious! My baby loves them too.
So good! My kids gobble these up! … and I don’t feel “guilty” about giving them pancakes 😉.
Yay! Happy you guys loved these!
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice these tasted. They were super easy to make with my Nutribullet.
I ate them for breakfast today & I am feeling full & happy.
They will be a regular breakfast option.
Thank you
Nice!! So glad you’re a fan of these 🙂
I absolutely love this recipe. I make it almost every Sunday after a long run. I love adjusting the toppings / flavors depending on the season. Today, I added half of an apple and cinnamon to the batter and then added more diced apple pieces and walnuts as toppings. This recipe always hits the spot!
The BEST healthy pancake recipe ever. So fluffy and flavorful, and easy to quickly whip up. My baby is a very picky eater and carb lover, and these are the perfect healthy alternative. I make a batch to keep in the fridge/freezer and heat them up in the toaster for a quick weekday breakfast for both of us.
YAY! So glad you and the babe are loving these, Dominique! And great call on freezing them 🙂
Oh Em Gee this is officially my go-to pancake recipe for all time! These are great pancakes. Not great gluten-free, refined sugar-free pancakes, just great pancakes that happen to be easy on the tummy and made from pantry staples. Tangy, almond-y, delicious! Thank you for another stellar recipe!
We make these all the time for our toddler and ourselves. Just tried them as a waffle today and SO good. Nice crispy edges and fluffy inside.
Oh nice!! So happy you all love them 🙂
Loved these pancakes! They were super fluffy and full of flavor. I didn’t use the almond extract and I substituted the coconut sugar with stevia. Will definitely make these again!
Excellent pancakes. Only thing I would add is 1/4 tsp of baking soda to help it brown better in the pan, but superb fluffy pancakes overall!
So happy you loved them! And that’s a great idea 🙂
I was really excited to try this recipe. I think it came out far too doughy for me and dense, I couldn’t taste or feel the fluffy texture at all. I’m a bit saddened by this meal,
So sorry to hear that, sounds like maybe something went wrong! Did you follow the instructions precisely? And any chance you overmixed the batter?
I found the batter quite dense on first cake so i added a bit more milk and stirred it in , then they turned out perfect,. do give it another try.
i also blended the oats first , to a flour then added rest of ing. , this also might help
Thanks so much for sharing, Pam!
My favorite new GF pancake recipe! Obsessively making them over and over.
I’m so glad you love them YAY!!
I have never posted a food review. These pancakes are better than regular pancakes! Amazing!!! The only modification I made was not adding an sugar and I used low fat vanilla yogurt. The texture and taste was chef’s kiss!!!!
Aw thank you for the review — it means a lot! I’m SO happy you loved these!!
These are the most fluffiest pancakes I’ve found! Taste better than original pancakes. I left out coconut sugar and almond extract as I didn’t have on hand and they came out beautifully 👌 topped with some sugar free maple syrup, these were a hit!
Can you use a dairy free yogurt like almond milk yogurt for this recipe? We’re a dairy free, gluten free and soy free household and are looking for a good pancake recipe with protein.
Hi, Bernice! Yes I think it should be fine as long as it has some fat content in it so that your pancakes don’t become gummy or dense.
add a bit of melted coconut oil or canola oil ,
Great pancakes !!!!!
made these this AM and these are now my go to for pancakes, did find the batter a bit thick after resting so added a splash more milk, and perfect .
used only vanilla extract [ 2 tsp ] and no add ins , Ate plain for me, and with fresh fruit for husband .
defiantly a keeper , thanks for sharing
LOVE you website, my go to for recipes
So happy you loved these, Pam!! And really happy you’re here 🥰
These were terrific! And my children approved. I’m usually pretty hard on “healthier” pancakes but these were super flavorful with the almond extract. Lovely consistency. I will make again! Thank you
Aw thanks so much, Angela! I’m so glad you all loved them 🙂
Wow, this pancake receipt looks so yummy. Definitely going to give it a try.
This was so delicious! Instead of sugar I added a whole banana for these two servings. The pancakes were super brown (which makes sense considering the banana). Second time around I made half this recipe and added nutmeg + cinnamon and crushed pecans on top of the batter. Used honey in place of syrup.
Overall I could taste a lot of baking soda (but i actually love the taste). Would recommend trying a little less than what’s recommended. The pancakes also aren’t as fluffy as in the picture for me BUT they did fluff up a little while cooking and then looked kinda flat after.
In my humble opinion these pancakes are DELICIOUS and I plan to continue playing around with batter consistency and how much I pour into the pan/how I cook them. Love that it’s also so low in calories and that it’s all fairly clean eating.
Thanks so much for putting this together and writing the recipe so wonderfully (especially on how to make the pancake, colors to look for, heat, etc).
Thank you so much for your feedback, Karina! I’m so happy you’re a fan of these 🙂 Those are all great additions. And thanks for the note about the baking soda flavor; I haven’t found that personally but it’s good to know!
Hi! Could you use full fat coconut milk yogurt?
Hi, Jess! I think that should be totally fine 🙂 Let me know how it goes!
So easy to make and delicious. Good for the whole family
These pancakes are so good!
So happy you love them — thanks, Terry!
So delicious, easy to make and filling. Made them this morning using 2% greek yogurt and subbed agave for the coconut sugar. Mixed in chocolate chips and topped with maple syrup to perfection. Already planning to make again with fresh blueberries! Thanks Monique! 🙂
Such good pancakes!! I made with Kitehill protein yogurt since I’m allergic to dairy and they were so fluffy. We will definitely be making again!
So happy they worked well with the nondairy yogurt and that you loved them!!
Looks delicious, hope I can cook like this. But I am not a good cook 🙁
Oh. My. Holy. Pancake. These are SO GOOD. I don’t want to be dramatic but these are probably the best pancakes I’ve ever made. Incredibly thick and fluffy and so delicious- I would eat them plain for a snack to go! So so amazing.
This is seriously the best healthy pancake recipe I’ve ever experienced. My kids DEVOUR these..more so than traditional pancakes. They’re filling, I know they’re getting some good nutrition, and just incredibly delicious. A+!!
YAY! So glad you and the fam all love this recipe!
I made these with Greek whole yogurt and maybe that’s where it went wrong, but horrible taste! The first batch was super flat but that’s expected sometimes when making pancakes, the second batch was very fluffy and that was nice, but horrible flavour. Had to throw them out
Hi, Kelle. So sorry they didn’t turn out well for you! I use whole milk greek yogurt, so I don’t think that was the issue. Did you change anything about the recipe? Perhaps you used baking soda instead of powder? They should be fluffy and they should taste like normal pancakes!
These are my favourite pancakes I’ve made. They taste great and feel more satisfying then flour-based pancakes. Actually kept me full. Sweet enough that you don’t need syrup on them. SO good – whole family loved!
Thanks
Absolutely delicious, Made exactly per the recipe with skim milk (what I had on hand) and 6 blueberries per pancake, plus extra blueberries on top for serving. Next time I’ll try raspberries and perhaps some nuts on top to mix it up. Bought full fat yogurt for the purpose of this recipe and boy was it worth it! My husband and I licked our plates clean. This has been added to the weekend breakfast rotation. Ive always been a waffles >> pancakes kind of person, but this recipe may change my mind. Thank you!!
SO happy they came out great!! Can’t wait for you to try them with raspberries too 🙂
These turned out great! Very fluffy with a little crisp on the outside. I read your tips for making pancakes and it was very helpful. I will definitely keep making these in the future!
I’m so glad the tips were helpful and that these came out amazing! Thanks for the review, Mary 🙂
I’ve tried quite a few gluten free, healthier pancake recipes and this is by far the best. I have an egg allergy so subbed with a flax egg, and they came out fantastic! Mixed in blueberries and topped with some chia and hemp seeds (and maple syrup of course). Will be a weekly staple.
Aw thank you! So glad the flax egg worked well and that you loved them 🙂
Good recipe! I have been looking for a good protein pancake recipe, this tastes almost like real pancakes. Yum!
Just like regular pancakes (but even better!) Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Tried these with lemon extract instead of vanilla with the almond extract then added fruit, omg it was so good with the hint of lemon and fruit. Will definitely be making these again.
Made this with my 3 year old, subbing dairy milk for non-dairy since that’s what I had on hand. By far THE BEST oatmeal pancake blender recipe I have tried. Monique is right – amazingly the full fat yogurt prevents these from being gummy! We added blueberries and there are none left. A very happy Saturday morning indeed – thank you!!!! A keeper for sure!
Ahhh this is amazing! SO happy to hear that you and the family are enjoying this recipe 🙂
Soooooooo good 😋😋😋. Quick, healthy, DELICIOUS and SO FLUFFY 🤪 Perfect for a busy weekday morning. Made 1/2 a batch in my ninja for 1 person. Looking forward to freezing a few batches! Thanks so much for another wonderful recipe!
AHHH this is amazing! SO glad you’re loving this recipe ❤️
Do you think buttermilk would work for this recipe?
These were delicious. We used regular sugar since we did not have coconut sugar.
My son and I made together and it was simple and easy to clean up since it was one bowl. Healthy, simple, and tasty!
Thank you!
Easy and delicious 🙂 SO glad you are both loving this recipe!
Definitely making these on a regular basis! I used Siggis full fat plain yogurt & it worked great. Added some cinnamon and pumpkin spice too. Yum!
Love this! So glad you are loving this recipe 🙂❤️
I’m actually shocked at how great these turned out! The texture is very similar to regular pancakes and taste is delicious. You do get a little bit of yogurt tang on the first bite, so if you really don’t like yogurt that might turn you off. But for me I’ll definitely make them again as a pancake with lots of protein and fiber. Great pregnancy recipe!
So glad you loved these! One of my fav recipes, too, for getting a nice boost of protein.
These pancakes are delightful! I am very impressed and so happy they are high in protein. As a nutritionist I approve and so happy to see a recipe that is outside of the box!
So happy to hear that! Glad you are loving these pancakes 🙂
These pancakes deserve 10 stars. They are light, fluffy and absolutely delicious.
The only suggestion I’d make is to pour the batter into a bowl after blending and then wait the 10 minutes.
Thanks for the best pancake recipe EVER!
Absolutely LOVE this recipe. I make them for myself and my toddler at least once a week. They are super quick to make and are delicious. One time I ran out of oats so I used a mixture of oats and oat flour which gave a smoother, lighter texture that I really enjoyed – so that’s how we make them now!
Aw love this so much! Glad you are both loving this recipe ❤️
Followed recipe exactly, pancakes were so incredibly flat. Almond extract nice idea though. Would not make again.
So sorry to hear this recipe did not turn out as you had hoped. Did you change anything about the recipe? They definitely shouldn’t have been flat.
My family is not a pancake family. We’ve always been waffles people and have never cared for the taste or texture of pancakes. These pancakes, though. Have converted my family. I went looking for healthy breakfast recipes, found this, and decided it was time to give pancakes another chance. And boy am I glad I did. We make these almost weekly now. Love the taste. That almond extract takes it to another level. And the yogurt. And the oats. Can’t even taste the oats! No flour and doesn’t even taste like it’s healthy for you. Needless to say, this is a keeper. Thank you for an amazing recipe!
I’d really like to make these for my son but he doesn’t eat dairy besides butter. Could I use a coconut based yogurt that has 11g of fat in the container? Just wondering if that’s enough fat to make it work. Thanks!
I haven’t tested this recipe with coconut yogurt, but that should work. Let me know how it turns out if you give it a try.
The most fabulous high-protein pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Two pancakes filled me up and the calorie count wasn’t high. I enjoyed every bite!
YUM! SO glad you are loving these pancakes! 🙂
This recipe is a staple in our house!! I love it and so do my toddler and ten month old. Lately I’ve been baking it in a 9×13 cake pan at 375 for 12-15 min for easy meal prep. LOVE!
Ah love this idea so much! Glad this recipe is a hit for you and your family ❤️
This recipe is awesome. I’ve made it probably 10 times now. I use cottage cheese instead of yogurt sometimes and always raw whole milk. I usually store half of it in the fridge for the next morning and it is still really yummy the next day, especially if you put syrup on right away instead of waiting til you eat it. Two thumbs up
Super good! Made them for my toddler but then had one for breakfast myself! I just subbed a really ripe banana for the sugar and almond extract and turned out great! They also brown up really well while cooking like a normal pancake unlike some other non-traditional pancake recipes I’ve tried. Definitely in the breakfast rotation!
These were soo good! I have tried other recipes for protein pancakes and they don’t compare to this one. Definitely let your batter sit.
These are the BEST gluten free pancakes!! I used cashew yogurt as a dairy-free alternative and brown sugar instead of coconut sugar – they came out great! Highly recommend if on a gluten free diet; because the recipe calls for oats, the pancakes don’t have that yucky gluten free flour taste. Healthy and filling too!
Ahh thank you, Sarah! I’m SO happy you love them!
Monique, I love your recipes! They are healthy, easy and delicious!
I saw you suggested adding 1 tablespoon of olive oil or melted butter to supplement using fat free yogurt in these pancakes. Would coconut oil also work or is it the wrong kind of fat?
Thank you so much for your fantastic recipes!!
Hi Mary – Melted coconut oil should work, although I haven’t tried it in this recipe. If you give it a try, let me know how they turn out!
Delicious and fluffy
Yes and yes!! I’m so happy you enjoyed them, Ana.
Amazing! Doubled the recipe- it almost didn’t fit in our blender! Used unsweetened oat milk and unsweetened coconut yogurt. Only 1 T of sugar. Topped with strawberries and a little syrup. Almond extract is a game changer! Thank you!
Yum! Love this so much, glad these turned out great for you!
Love everything from AK! Could these be made into waffles? Thanks!
I haven’t tested them in a waffle maker so I’m not 100% sure! Check out my waffle recipes here 🙂
Can I make the batter ahead of time in the blender the night before and then store it in the fridge to use in the morning? Thanks!
Hi Jessica – I would probably recommend making the pancakes and storing them in an airtight container then reheating then the next morning. Hope you enjoy these 🙂
Doubled recipe but followed recipe to a T and they were as flat as a sheet of paper 😞 Taste was good, though! Will try again and add more oats.
Hi Lindsey – What type of yogurt did you use? What was the consistency of the batter?
My whole family enjoyed these! Love the quality ingredient list!
Amazing! So glad you loved these pancakes and they turned out great for you!
Perfect recipe – thank you so much for sharing! Even the most fussy member of our household loved them 🙂
These were the best start from scratch protein pancakes I’ve tried. I used monkfruit/erythritol instead of coconut sugar as I needed to have less sugar, however, they were still amazing. A keeper.
I evaluated the pancakes and there were 56 carb grams not including the coconut sugar, however with the added protein of 15 grams and the healthy carbohydrate value, it is still excellent nutritionally!
Wow this was a great recipe!! I am trying to work on a higher protein lifestyle without having to add protein powders. This was tasty, not too sweet, and easy to make small adjustments! I did make 2 MASSIVE pancakes with this recipe instead of 6 as I am trying to eat it by myself so they were hard to flip over, my fault. 😅 Next time I’ll make them 3 large pancakes instead. I added Blueberries and just wow, no syrup even needed.
Thanks, Elizabeth! So happy to hear they were delicious!
great recipe! i used gluten free flour instead of oat flour, brown sugar instead of coconut, and 2.5tsp vanilla (and no almond essence), as those are just my preferences. the pancakes were thick and super fluffy, cooked right through with no problem. there was no gumminess, no undercooked middle, no yoghurt flavour
i also used beaters instead of a blender and it worked wonderfully
Amazing! Happy to hear those swaps worked out well!
I made these for a weekend breakfast and they were absolutely amazing!
I halved the recipe for a single serving and added blueberries and syrup and they turned out perfect!
Not as thick as I would have hoped ( I left them for ten minutes) but they still tasted great:)
Delicious recipe, will definitely be on my breakfast rotation!
Thank you:)
I made these for a weekend breakfast and they were absolutely amazing!
I halved the recipe for a single serving and added blueberries and syrup and they turned out perfect! I also added a squeeze of fresh lemon and it incorporated nicely and added a nice zesty aftertaste.
Not as thick as I would have hoped ( I left them for ten minutes) but they still tasted great:)
Delicious recipe, will definitely be on my breakfast rotation!
Thank you:)
Those additions sound delicious! The extra liquid from the lemon juice may have thinned them out a bit, but glad you enjoyed regardless 🙂
Delicious! Made them for me and my toddler. I had cottage cheese so used that instead of yogurt. Turned out great.
Perfect! One of our fav breakfasts 🙂
As a nursing mama, these pancakes start the day off just right! I served mine up with a little maple syrup, ricotta & fresh berries. Dreamy! The flash freeze method works great, too! I just reheated the last of my frozen batch in the oven on a baking sheet covered with foil @ 375 for 12 minutes. Just as moist and delicious as they were the day they were made! Rockstar recipes. Keep them coming!
This is our go to pancake recipe. I love that it’s gluten free and has protein to fill all of us up for the morning. We always have to double the recipe because my 3 year old and 1 year old eat so many! We love to add blueberries and/or chocolate chips.
These are SO good and SO easy! I have substituted flax egg and coconut yogurt and they turned out just as great.
My weekend breakfast. So good!
So glad you love these!
turned out fab!!
