I’ve been a fan of unique and creative salsas for quite some time. Almost as long as I’ve been a fan of Zac Efron, but we’ll save my other obsession for another blog post where I’m not talking about salsas.
Anywho.
Time to get everyone introduced to my avocado strawberry mango salsa. It’s fabulous, easy and perfect with pita chips or on top of chicken or salmon. YUM.
If you’ve never had a fruit salsa, you’re in for a real treat. It’s sweet and savory all at the same time and it’s the perfect way to surprise people during your summer BBQ. Like hey what’s up, I made you the best salsa of all time. You are now crowned the potluck party queen. What a damn honor.
Everything you’ll need to make this strawberry mango salsa
This strawberry mango salsa recipe is amazing, refreshing, and a little spicy thanks to a little jalapeƱo. Bonus points for being SO easy and quick to make. Here’s everything you’ll need:
- Strawberries
- Mango
- Avocado
- JalapeƱo
- Red onion
- Cilantro
- Lime juice
- A pinch of salt
Can I make it without the spice?
Of course! Be sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeƱo, or feel free to omit the jalapeƱo altogether.
Tips for making strawberry mango salsa with avocado
- Don’t go too ripe. Use fruits and avocado that aren’t overly ripe. This will help the salsa stay fresh and keep it from getting mushy.
- Chop everything evenly. Dice your fruit into small, equal-sized pieces so that you get a little bit of everything in each bite. Check out all of my tips and tricks for how to cut a mango here, and how to cut an avocado here.
- Dice the potent ingredients. Dice the red onion and jalapeƱo even smaller so that their flavors aren’t overpowering. Learn how to dice an onion here!
- Add lime juice. Don’t forget a squeeze of lime juice! This will help the avocado stay fresh and avoid browning.
Delicious ways to use this strawberry mango salsa
Here are a few of my favorite ways to use this fresh fruit salsa recipe:
- Put it on grilled chicken
- Add it to my famous salmon or a simple grilled salmon
- Top your fish tacos
- Add it to quinoa salads
But of course, the best way to eat it = with pita chips, baby! The cinnamon sugar ones are my fav.
How to store homemade fruit salsa
The lime juice helps to keep the avocado nice and green, but the strawberry mango avocado salsa is still definitely best enjoyed the day of. If you have some left over, feel free to keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Loving all of the fruit in this salsa! So tasty!
Added some fresh corn and pineapple. Served with grilled halibut in a tortilla. Fantastic! Going to try grilled shrimp.
Love that! So delicious š
I feel like I could eat this as a salad but a good salty chip would be perfect with it. YUM! Such a good salsa for summer!
Both are perfect!!
This would also be amazing on top of grilled chicken or salmon I’m thinking…YUM! š
YES I’ve been adding it to everything!
wow, really creative salsa (I could even eat it as a salad), with a great sweet-creamy-spicy balance, jalapenos yes thank you!
Thanks Sabrina! I’ve been adding it to pretty much everything this summer š

Well useful for my Dad. Having sugar n cholesterol, he has to eat avocado, which he is not liking. This will make him interested for sure. Thanks a ton for the share. Will reduce the amount of mango n strawberries though.
Can anything else for diabetic patients be added for more flavor n replace mango?
This is so fresh, bright, colorful, and lovely! Simple and perfect for entertaining or to bring to a party. I served with organic corn tortilla chips. Make sure your fruit is ripe. Right now is mango and strawberry season.
Absolutely! Love this with tortilla chips. This is the perfect way to use mango and strawberries right now! š
Oops, my rating didnāt post…
Again no sodium listed in your nutritional info though you clearly have salt in the recipe. Those of us living with kidney disease need this information. Please start adding it.
Bev, as mentioned to you in previous comments you’ve left regarding sodium: we do not calculate sodium. It varies per brand and it’s impossible to be accurate with. If you’d like you can calculate the sodium content yourself using an online nutrition calculator. Thank you!

Holy crap, this is amazeballs! Iāve never made fruit salsa before, this is incredible! Wish I wouldāve had this recipe when I lived in Asia with badass mangoes, so my mango wasnāt terrific, but everything else totally makes up for it. Do you think you could sub another fruit if mangoes are lookin shoddy? Pineapple maybe??
Love it!! Yes, I think pineapple or peaches would be great.
